GFWC Paskack Junior Woman's Club Teams w/Chestnut
Ridge Pediatrics & Offer Children’s Cookbook
The GFWC Paskack Junior Woman’s Club (PJWC) is pleased to announce
Chestnut Ridge Pediatrics as the title sponsor of the club’s upcoming
children’s cookbook. The cookbook is currently in development and will
be specifically geared towards providing parents with tried and true healthy
recipes that kids really like. The book will also feature a dietary assessment
of each recipe, listing of ingredients that are common food allergies (such
as eggs, milk, wheat, soy and nuts) as well as information on children’s
nutrition.
Proceeds from the sale of the cookbook will provide scholarships for local children to attend KidFIT Connections at the Community Health Education Center at Valley Hospital. This six-week weight management program helps children and their families improve their health. The classes focus on nutritional goals and aspects of a balanced fitness program. The children who participate also have time to practice what they learned in a workout center. The classes are open to 5th, 6th and 7th graders who are to be accompanied by one adult family member.
